The Business Profile of the Month for April is M.B. Eye Electrical. M.B. Eye Electrical is an independently owned electrical company located in Charlottetown and has been operating for the past five years. This growing and ambitious business specializes in providing quality and innovative electrical solutions including Convectair heating, lighting design, heat pump installations, wiring upgrades and retrofits, data cabling and more. Over the last year, M.B. Eye Electrical has expanded to include a new solar energy division, known as Real Industry Resources.
We recently reached out to the great staff at M.B. Eye to ask a few questions about their business.
What is a typical day like for your company?
Customer service is paramount at M.B. Eye Electrical. On any given day, our team of apprentices, journeymen and fully licensed electricians travel around the Island to work with customers; from simple service calls in a home or business, to setting up service in a brand new home or commercial building, our employees are trained to handle it all. We field questions and phone calls throughout the day with the number one objective being to meet and exceed the customer’s needs.
What do you view as the biggest advancement in the Electrical profession over the past 10 years? What do you see as future advancements?
Without a doubt, the biggest advancement in electrical industry over the past 10 years is the move toward more energy efficient solutions. Energy rates are rising, and will continue to rise for the next 10 years and customers are looking for more feasible options. It’s no longer just about changing over to LED light bulbs, but we are seeing more and more growth in demand for alternate energy sources, particularly in solar energy. It is exciting to think we are now a part of that huge movement and that our company is expanding with the introduction of Real Industry Resources, the new solar energy division of M.B. Eye Electrical.
What is the main goal for you company in the next 5 to 10 years?
Because we strive to be leaders in the electrical industry on Prince Edward Island, we want to continue to offer Islanders with the most advanced energy solutions. Knowing that such huge growth in our industry is happening in the solar sector, many of our goals over the next 10 years will focus on that. We will always be a company who can be called on to service many residential and commercial electrical components and products, but we are also going to be the largest provider and installer of solar energy solutions for homes and businesses.
What do you enjoy most about your profession?
It’s the customers who make our jobs enjoyable. We love meeting new home owners and business operators and working together to figure out the best electrical solutions. We are humbled and are very grateful for the business Islanders have given us. We would like to thank Islanders for calling us, telling their friends and colleagues about us, and for joining us on social media – it has been great to get to know such great people and we are very much looking forward to continuing to be their first choice for electrical service across PEI.
